The University Grant Commission has been released the notification and Information Bulletin for the upcoming National Eligibility Test June 2025. The UGC University Grant Commission is a Statutory body of Govt of India, the Ministry of Education. University Grant Commission has been established under the University Grant Commission Act 1956 (3 of 1956). 

The UGC NET Test will be conducted by the National Testing Agency known as NTA. NTA is an Independent, Autonomous and self sustained body, established by the Govt of India. Under The Societies Registration Act 1860. The NTA has been established to conduct the transparent, efficient examination on the international standard in India.

Mode of Examination UGC NET June 2025

The Mode of Examination of UGC NET June 2025 is a computer based test that is known as CBT. The Candidates will have to conduct two papers. The First paper is common for all candidates who appear for the UGC NET exam. The Second Paper is related to the selected subject of the candidate. The Second Paper syllabus is from the subject of post graduation, in which the candidate appeared.

Both the Papers will be conducted on the computer. The Candidate first will have to conduct first common paper and then second as per subject. The Paper will be conducted without any break between the both exams. The Candidate can re-attempt the particular question, if he/she wants to remark. After the completion of the decided time duration of the exam, the candidate will not be able to attempt the question. The Computer System will be disabled to attempt the question.

Pattern of Examination UGC NET June 2025 Online Application Form

The UGC NET Exam will consist of two papers. Both the papers will be objective type and multiple-choice answer. The Candidate will have to choose the right answer or multiple choice answer as per the nature of the question. The First Paper is common for all the candidates which consist of 50 questions. Each question equals two marks. Total marks of the first paper is 100. Second paper consists of 100 questions. Each question equals two marks. Total marks of the second paper is 200.

The Candidate will be given 180 Minutes (3 Hours) to conduct the both examinations.

Medium of UGC NET June 2025 Question Paper

Medium of the UGC NET Question paper in both Hindi and English language. The Candidate can attempt questions in any language. The candidate can change the language in mid exam also. Any kind of typographically discrepancy or question structure mistake, there English version will be treated as final. Candidates are suggested to choose the option carefully at the time of filling the application form.

Marking Scheme of UGC NET Exam

The First Paper consists of 50 questions each question carrying 2 marks. The Second Paper each question also carries 2 marks. All the questions are compulsory. There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer. If a candidate does not attempt any question then no marks will be given for that particular question.

Eligibility Criteria of UGC NET Exam

Education Eligibility Criteria of UGC NET Exam is Post Graduation or equivalent to it. The Candidate must possess the post graduation degree or equivalent to post graduation. The education eligibility percentage criteria is different according to social category. The Candidate of General / Unreserved / EWS Category who secured at least 55% marks in post graduation is eligible for UGC NET Exam. The Candidate of Reserved categories OBC / SC /ST / PWD / Third Gender who secured at least 50% marks in post graduation is eligible for UGC NET Exam.

The Candidate who has appeared for the final year exam and result is in waiting then also can apply for the UGC NET Exam. The result of UGC NET Exam will be provisional. The Candidates will have to submit his post graduation result for qualifying the ugc net test. The Candidate will have to qualify the post graduation exam within two years from the result of UGC NET. If Candidates do not qualify the post graduation exam then the UGC NET result will not be considered as qualified.

Age Limit for UGC NET June 2025 Online Application Form

There is no age limit to appear for the UGC NET Exam. The Candidates can apply at any time after the completion of post graduation degree or equivalent to it. The Candidate if they want to apply for the Assistant Professor or Admission in Ph.d, there is no age limit. 

Age Limit for Junior Research Fellowship

The Age Limit to appear in UGC NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship is 30 Years, for the candidate who belongs to General Category. The Candidate belongs to the OBC / SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender categories and women applicants are exempted for 5 years. So 5 years relaxation is given to these social categories.
